What are eyelash extensions?
Semi-permanent eyelash extensions are a year-round ‘must have’ for the fashion conscious! Eyelash extensions draw more attention to your eyes than mascara alone, and 24/7, so you’ll look great when you wake up, after your workout, in the office, on the beach…
Individually applied, we’ll frame your eyes with long, high quality silk lashes directly onto your natural lashes to enhance and extend. We will create a glamorous look, using a variety of extensions to build the right volume, length and curl for your unique style.
What’s the difference between ‘eyelash extensions’ and ‘cluster lashes’?
Lash extensions are individual strands, curled like natural lashes. Cluster lashes are made up of 3-4 strands fanning out from a “bulb” glued on to your natural lashes. You’ll likely find cheaper rates for cluster lashes – and if you see them applied, you’ll know why... they are heavy, uncomfortable and do not last.
How long will my extensions last?
Each extension should last for the life the natural eyelash cycle. As your natural lashes grow and shed, the extensions will grow and shed with them. Some clients have a faster growth cycle and need touchups within 2 weeks. These clients are either rougher on their lashes or just prefer fuller lashes at all times. We recommend coming in for touch ups when your extensions begin to look sparse.
Will eyelash extensions damage my own lashes?
No, regularly applying eyelash extensions and giving mascara and strip lashes a break will actually strengthen your own natural lashes.
Will it hurt?
No! When properly applied, eyelash extensions should NEVER hurt! Extensions are applied to your natural lashes, not touching the skin, so you shouldn’t feel a thing. With your eyes closed, you may even find the treatment so relaxing that you fall asleep.
How should I expect my extensions to feel?
Your lashes will be clean, separated, and perfect. You should not feel any pain or discomfort in or around your eyes after the procedure. We’ve seen clients after previous dangerous or poorly applied lash applications performed elsewhere, and they have experienced clumping, pain, discomfort, or damage to their own natural lashes.
How should I prepare for my eyelash-extension appointment?
Arrive with no makeup or at least no mascara, and do not perm or curl your eyelashes before your appointment.
How long does it take?
You can expect a meticulous, concentrated and precise application. From consultation through application, the process will last approximately 2 hours.
I don’t have eyelashes, can I wear lash extensions?
Clients who have no eyelashes are not recommended to wear extensions, as they are applied only to the existing natural eyelashes. If you have gone through, or are going through chemotherapy, please call or email us to chat about your lashes, so we can determine when it is appropriate for you start wearing eyelash extensions.
Help! I got eyelash extensions from another studio and I‘m in pain/they look terrible/I just need to get them removed.
Call us immediately so we can remove your old extensions. We’ve rectified work by other studios many times, often when a client is in pain or discomfort will happily remove your old lash extensions, and if you wish, apply a new set.
Can I still use mascara over my extensions?
Most clients don’t find it necessary to wear mascara with eyelash extensions. However, if you must wear mascara, we advise using a water-based formula. Do not use oil based mascara it will shorten the life of your lashes.
